Dr. Babita Patel

A distinguished physician and the proud owner of Halifax Internal Medicine. Graduating from St. George’s University in 1995 with her Medical Doctorate, she embarked on a remarkable journey in the field of medicine. Dr. Patel further specialized in Infectious Diseases, completing her fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2000.

Cynthia Cole, NP

Meet Cynthia Cole, our dedicated Nurse Practitioner at Halifax Internal Medicine, bringing extensive experience and compassion to patient care. A Halifax County native, Cynthia began her healthcare journey in 1997, earning her RN diploma from Danville Regional Medical Center. She furthered her education with a BSN from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008 and an MSN from Walden University in 2015, specializing as a Nurse Practitioner. Certified in Basic Life Support, Cynthia joined our team in 2016, emphasizing personalized care and patient education. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, traveling, camping, and the beach. With her blend of expertise and compassion, Cynthia is a valued member of our community and Halifax Internal Medicine team.

Allison Pope, NP

Meet Allison Pope, our dedicated Nurse Practitioner at Halifax Internal Medicine, committed to providing exceptional care to our community. With over 13 years of experience, Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from VCU and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Certified in Basic Life Support, she prioritizes patient well-being, earning her the title of "Best Primary Care Provider" in 2023. Beyond her medical expertise, Allison is an active community member, cherishing time with her family and enjoying the outdoors. Collaborating closely with NP Nakisha Easley, she continues to contribute to the health and well-being of her patients at HIM.

Nakisha Easley, NP

Meet Nakisha Easley, our dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner at Halifax Internal Medicine, committed to providing exceptional care to her hometown community. Nakisha started her nursing career with a diploma from Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing and continued her education with a BSN from Chamberlain University and an MSN from Walden University. Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, Nakisha joined our team in July 2023, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Passionate about compassionate healthcare, she values her deep-rooted connection to the community and her 20-year marriage to her high school sweetheart. Nakisha's blend of expertise and genuine care makes her a valued member of our team, dedicated to improving the lives of her patients at Halifax Internal Medicine.

Marie Wiles, NP

Meet Marie Wiles, a lifelong Clarksville, Virginia resident and experienced healthcare provider who has proudly served rural communities since 2006. With a clinical background in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care, Marie is passionate about helping patients manage chronic conditions, prevent disease, and achieve better overall wellness. Marie believes in a patient-centered approach, working closely with each individual to create a personalized care plan that supports their unique health needs and goals. In addition to caring for patients, she helps educate future healthcare professionals as adjunct faculty at Duke University and Mary Baldwin University. Marie is proud to bring her experience, compassion, and commitment to whole-person care to the patients of Halifax Internal Medicine.
